Our first snow days for 2015

Did you see the Ruxton's place on the news last night? We are happy to be back at school today after our first two snow days for 2015!

Wellington Camp 2015

On Monday the 18 of May Jade, Charlotte, Miss Allan, my Dad and I flew out to Wellington for our senior camp. We were staying at a place called Dwellington.
Every day we were busy going to places like Parliament, Te Papa, Weta Workshop, Zoo, Adrenaline Forest, Cable Cars and the Great War Museum.
I really enjoyed the whole camp but if I had to pick my most favourite activity it would be the Adrenaline Forest.

I would like to thank Miss Allan for all her hard work and all the people that did fundraising to make this year’s camp AWESOME.   By Ben

Wellington Camp 2015

On Monday last week we got up early to go to the airport, there I met up with Charlotte, Ben, Ms Allan and Mr Joyce. We then boarded our plane to go to Wellington for the week, it was my first time on a plane and I really enjoyed it.
When we arrived in Wellington we got a shuttle to where we were staying, it was called the Dwellington. I was in a room with Charlotte and Ms Allan. We went to Parliament, the war exhibition and the zoo. We caught a train to Porirua to go to Adrenalin Forest where we did a ropes course, it was lots of fun.
We went up Mount Wellington in a cable car, we also went to Carter Observatory. We went to Te Papa and Weta workshop and went swimming, the pool was warm. My favourite thing that we did was the war exhibition because it was interesting, and Adrenalin Forest because it was high up and I like heights.

I had a really great time and I was really tired when I got home. I would like to thank Ms Allan and Mr Joyce for coming with us and making it so much fun.

Wellington Camp 2015

On Monday morning we flew up to wellington we got there about 11:00, got a shuttle to Dwellington dropped off our bags and had a rest we walked down to the bee hive and had a tour of parliament. I enjoyed seeing the debating chamber. We walked back to the hostel and Jade and I had a game of tennis.
That night it was my turn to cook I made chicken wraps and choc moose for dessert it was pretty good!!
We also went to the zoo. My favourite part was the feeding of the lions when the lady feed the lioness`s one of them roared and gave us a fright. We had a busy time for the week I also enjoyed the Adrenalin Forest and the Weta Cave, "My precious" seeing Gollam was pretty cool.
I think Mr Joyce really enjoyed the observatory lol. Thanks for coming with us I hope you enjoyed it.

Police Physical Competency Test (PCT Challenge)

On Tuesday I went to the Edgar Centre to complete the PCT challenge with Outram School. The course was challenging, we had to crawl under, over and jump obstacles. There were four people in a team and the team was timed on how long it took to complete the whole course. If you did not do an obstacle correctly your team was disqualified. So we had to work together as a team to help each other complete the challenges. Our team did it in just over 3 minutes. It was so good I want to do it again next year.

Calibrating Clocks

Today in maths, the Year 5-7s made minute timers with water and milk bottles, this was a tricky experiment to complete! Jade and Ben got the closest with a timer that ran at 58sec. Do you think you could do it?!
