Kia Kaha

On Friday we started Kia Kaha with Constable Parcell. On the first day of kia kaha we made a shield. Kia Kaha stands for 'stand tall and stand strong'. On Monday we learnt what Responsible and Rights are. Responsible means you are responsible for something. Rights means what everyone deserves. Yesterday we learnt who bullies are and what makes people bully.

Meeting Ella West

Yesterday we went to the Mosgiel Library for a writer’s workshop. We met Ella West. Her real name is Karen Trebilcock but she changed it because there were a lot of Karen’s. She is an award winning local author and she writes books for young adults. She taught us how to plan really cool stories. She said a good story starts sad and has a happy ending, she also told us that when you plan a story stick with it!

Quilt of Remembrance

We finished our quilt at the end of term 2 - isn't it amazing! Thanks to the mums who came in and sewed all our quilt squares together to create such an awesome and meaningful artwork. We have it hanging in our school foyer and are very proud of it.
